This is a -good- beginner's book for someone who is growing orchids in the south of the US, or someone who is thinking about growing them. It has careful instructions about how to grow warm-climate orchids, inside and outside, and points out that orchids are easy to grow as long as the orchids are matched to your home climate. It has beautiful pictures. I -like- the temperature range charts about the temperature differences between US cities and tropical cities. I also like the suggestions about how to grow different orchids. The only reason I've not given this book a 5 star rating is because I would have liked a little more information about dealing with extremes of heat if growing orchids outside, which is a bit picky. It may be there isn't more about dealing with 100F+ days because there isn't that much different to do about those days.
