The Winthrops are America's "Royal Family". Their version of Prince Charming, Gary, has been murdered in his home. He's the fifth member of the family to die in one year.

Anchorwoman Dana Evans was one of the last to see him alive. She makes it her mission to investigate his death, and the supposedly unrelated deaths of the others.

By doing so, she and her young son are placed in mortal danger.
