A couple of sentences mention Lieutenant Ashworth (from Becoming Lady Lockwood) but otherwise this is a stand alone novel. It is more historical than romance I think, about different groups of Greek people fighting Turks. The book was very meh for me, I never rooted much for Diana or Alex. Loved the Mavromichalis family but the events in the story seemed slow, forced, and too perfectly ended than really wondering if things would work out. Very hard to place time period too with this one.
