This is the second "Jessica Fletcher" book written by Jon Land. While there was still a conspiracy, I was glad to see he didn't have at the national level in this book. But Land couldn't allow himself to avoid the dramatic ending with pages of Jessica and George climbing down a cliff face with bullets barely missing them.

Speaking of George, he didn't fool me for a minute.

And with Jessica driving all over New England---no, she wasn't the driver---I wonder how much she spent on gas? And why did Land portray Jessica as so stupid she rides her bicycle at night to confront two murderers without telling anyone where she was going. Is she getting so old now she has signs of dementia?

And Land's clues as to what is going on aren't as subtle as those Donald Bain used to provide.
