As I read through The Food Contrarian, I was confused. This is a reprint done by Tuchy Palmieri and [...] - but it leaves me wondering if it couldn't have done with some editing.

Let me step back just a moment, though. There are some great quotations on eating, food, and health in this book. Like other books by Palmieri, there is plenty of food for thought. I particularly enjoyed "The compulsive eater never lets logic interfere with their eating." The first dozen or so pages stick to the topic of food, and will be something you would likely read more than once (or at least snag your favorite motivational quotations from).

However, many of the pages of this book are filled with the same quotations, and similarly worded quotations, leaving me wonder if someone even read the manuscript before publishing it. Additionally, while the book states that it is not approved by Overeaters Anonymous or any other group, approximately 160 of 194 pages of this book discuss a 12-step program and its Big Book, steps, traditions, and values. This would be great if I was in a program, but I'm not. Perhaps those pages should have been packaged as a separate book of quotations for program members?

After enjoying a number of Palmieri books, I have to say this one is a bust - unless you'd like some great quotations on 12-step programs.
