When I started this series, I thought there were six books. But this book ends the story arc. It's got lots of action and a satisfying end, although I felt it was pretty predictable. That doesn't mean its target audience will care, or even notice. Clary, Jace, and Simon are still fun; some nicely snarky dialogue between the kids; even the adults get some good parts to play. I did like Clary's thinking at the climatic moment with Valentine, how just was that. Not the most tightly written plot, but still satisfying.
