The one thing Anthony Maitland needed was Holiday in the lovely village of Burton Cecil. The last thing the barrister sleuth needed was murder. Especially when the victim was an innocent young girl, gruesomely strangled!
The police were ready to nab the boyfriend while the villagers pointed ominously at a stranger in town.
But Maitland remembered another murder in Burton Cecil seven years before and suspected a connection. Then a second girl was killed-and Maitland saw a dead;u pattern emerge one that would lead him to the least likely killer of all.
