This book turned out to be a big disappointment at the end. I was captivated page by page enjoying how well established all the characters were. I loved how the author rolled from each person's point of view to reveal the overall story. At least I did until I got to the end. I literally kept flipping pages back and forth, CERTAIN that somehow my copy of this book was missing a chapter. Even after I finished it, I went back looking for a missing segment that somehow I could have overlooked. I felt built up and let down.

Definitely take the time to read the Q&A with the Author that's included at the end of book. I don't think it really answered my questions, but it helped me realize she intended this surprise ending. I still think it needed another chapter with SOME detail....but I am not an author, just another reader!

I am just finishing another one of Piccoult's books "Picture Perfect" and to be honest, am not looking forward to the ending of this one either. However, she does write beautifully with such realistic characters that I am definitely going to read her book, "The Pact" next. I think I didn't enjoy this ending because I have grown accustomed to the 'happy ending' we all expect at the end of tragic stories....and that really isn't a realistic end in life. Happy reading.....
