This is only the second historic romance I have ever read. Even though the book description was super cheesy, it actually wasn't bad. It read like any other romance novel with a slight variation on speech on some vocabulary.

Grim was a nice solid alpha male, brooding and all. He could be a bit of a whiner but somehow he still came off as pretty sexy. It was probably due to his interactions with all the side characters. Their teasing added to Grim's character. I really liked the friendship between Quinn and Grim. Jillian was pretty spirited which made it fun. I was expecting to see more of an ice-princess act and was glad we didn't. The banter between Grim and Jillian was entertaining. I would have loved to read more about how Jillian's parents got together.

It was a quick, fast read with a predictable but interesting plot. Of course I'm sure historians everywhere are rolling in their graves due to all the inaccuracy (clothing, looks, etc...), but if you aren't picky on that it was an enjoyable book.
