"Make no mistake - this is not the great writing and plotlines of the early Scarpetta books, but it's also not as bad and maudlin as the last two have been. Cornwell seems to at least be making an effort to push Kay Scarpetta back to where she came from and it mostly works in this newest book." amazon review
