This one is a lot different then the others in the series, this one has to deal with a Darkness that two brother brought with them from Pope's and their own dimension. Jessie/ Ally is a daughter of one of the brothers and she has been on the run or in foster homes for the most of her life from the man (Russell) that has invaded her fathers body with Darkness and he is out to take Jessie and use her in a sick way but she never throught she would 'man up' and face Russell until she runs into Magnus and Lachlan McLeod then her world is turned upside down and help her face her fears. Lachlan is still shutting him self away since he accidentally killed his mom but turns out it really want not his fault for a ghost that attached himself to Lachlan since the last time hie projected himself into the past. Anyways when she sees the future about his brother dying then his is on a mission to prevent that event from happening but he never thought he would find himself falling for a girl his bother wanted in the beginning. Magnus has been in a coma for most of this book but he is waking up towards the end and Lachlan is happy but scared to tell his brother all that has happened. We do get to see Eric, Petra, Pope, Fonda and Cheveyo and they step in to help watch over and help in a way.
