  tinge my sorrow
with a little sweet
a creamy, exquisite chocolate treat
or maybe something spicy
burn the tongue's delight
even something icy
or cold to ease the hot

tinge my sorrow
with a little silence
a dull, encompassing ache
it fills the room like cloudy mist
a layer of dew skin on my face

tinge my sorrow
with a little sadness
no- they're not one in the same
it takes a hopeless, fleeting heart
till realization of that difference came

tinge my sorrow
with a little anger
a short burst of emotion
that transforms on itself into shame
the bleeding of a heart denied
an empty wind that carries not my name

tinge my sorrow
with a little patience
a small reminder of
the true meaning of love
I wait with painful blood of seconds
and promise to hold this in remembrance
