I’m staring into my own eyes
The mirror of betrayal
A mysterious creature gazes back
The nuances of her complexity
Astonishingly hidden
Rising to the surface
At the most inopportune times
The times where she is the strongest
I am weak
I love her
And hate her
And long to know what secrets
Are buried behind those deep brown eyes
Feral, sometimes soft
Sharp, sometimes shaky
She changes
Like the direction of the wind
She morphs
From raindrops to icicles
To foamy clouds
Her form is formless
Her desires unreachable
She is erotically mysterious-
that’s what makes her most dangerous
I will never truly know her-
Do I ever want to?
She leads and beguiles
Down beautifully enticing paths
Then leaves and deserts
When directions are at lack
I feel empty without her
And betrayed in her presence
She is the depth of me
Which was never meant to be
But through her,
I am able to see my true beauty
