  My Almost Happiness

I think about you. You and I together as we once were.
Touching hands. The texture of your palm against mine, the brush of your fingers on me. When we kissed, the rush of air that we exchanged into each others mouths.
It remains on my tongue for hours in my mind.
It feels like a dream although I'm awake.
If I was awake I would again have to pull away from you.
I would have to peel my skin away from yours.
I would have to travel a thousand miles to get away from your magic.
And it would start again the minute you came into my head.
My almost happiness.
