  You...
my aimless friend,

looking for a place to grow,
but afraid of roots .
Watch out for me;
I am Mother Earth.
I AM roots.
Everything grows here
but self-destruction.

The drifting ship that is you
seeks anchor in the sea
of my bed.
But let me tell you something:
you have the wrong port.
This is not your deck,
And your berth is not between my legs.

I am for growing; not for tying up to.

Barbara Gregory (Pearlman)
from "PROCESS" - "AFTERFLASH" 1979
