I love this. Can't say why, but I do. Well, maybe I can say a little: It has an unexpected tension, especially in contrast with the title, which leads one to expect something gentle and--oh, I don't know--"wondrous"? But instead it speaks of struggle, and of course it's the struggle of birth, which, after all, is what spring is all about. Not chirping birdies and flitting butterflies. That's why I like it. ;)
