Life is the death of kings
From baby knees to angel wings
A yawn of time, wishes met,
Just enough to get in debt.
Needs immense and expectations tall,
We all together fear the fall.
-
So kiss my palm and smudge your tear
Take my hand; the time is near.
Forget rational and embrace truth
Sever ties and abandon youth.
Stars to pocket and emptiness enthrall
We all together fear the fall.
-
You remember life; I ponder death,
Why is it that you can catch your breath?
Bleeding ice and cold that cuts
I hear you giggle from beneath glass that juts.
My mouth forms words, my screams are raw;
We all together fear the fall.
-
Regret cuts you deep, and you reach for my hand
Through water that bites; do you understand?
My skin is cold, so cold, swaddled in frost,
You seek a pulse, but mine is long lost.
Your tears come then, a deafening bawl,
We all together fear the fall.
