From the American Girl's Collection I have ISBN 1-56247-113-9 "Home is Where the Heart Is: A Play About Kirsten" Play Script, Kirsten 1854. It's her coming to America. I'd just post it, since there are several wishers for that ISBN, but the ISBN brings up a "Theater Kit" which makes me suspicious it came with some props that I don't have. I thought before donating it to the local children's book collection I'd see if anyone wanted just the script. If so, let me know and I'll post it directly to your WL. I ran into a similar issue with the Molly play. I was going post the script but did not know if I could because it brings up the Theater Kit. I actually have 3 copies of it just sitting on top of the bookshelf. Some little girls could have fun putting on a play.

I tried looking them up on the A.G. website, but they are no longer making the 'theater Kit's
So I called my sister. (My niece is 9). She has three of these 'kits' on her bookshelf. She pulled one down and read to me what is origanally included in a kit:
4-6 scripts (4 - 6 copies of the book that you have)
A 'directors guide' (another book with instructions/suggestions on such things as props, stage design, casting, trying out, promoting, concession stands, costumes, sound track, whatever....)
a promotional poster and
play tickets
My sister says her kits are marked at about six bucks... that is, they cost six bucks, new, whenever it was that the ones on her shelf came out.
I also asked her if she wanted to join PBS and get on of the two offered here Last Edited on: 9/4/08 9:51 AM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Interesting. Sounds like a reasonably well thought out kit, actually. I don't think I have any other copies but maybe I'll set it aside until I can go through the children's books more carefully--this one might have been mis-sorted originally. |
