You could try posting the books separately and then post in the Bazaar that you have all of the boxed set. It might be good to post it on the board of the appropriate genre.

They can't change the way boxed sets are handled here. The books database does not have a consistent way to tell that an ISBN is for a box and how many books are in the set (it might be in the title, or maybe in the description, or maybe nowhere at all). The DVD database does include a reliable way to tell how many discs per set, so the programming at that site was able to take advantage of the information in a way that the programming here could not.

For boxed sets of books, there are a couple of things you can do to try sending them together.

  1. Post the first book and wait for it to be accepted or go on wish list hold on your My Account page. Click the PM button. From the PM screen, click on the member's name, then click on the member's name and then on the Wish List tab. Look for the other two books and use the Post this Book button on the other member's wish list screen to post the books directly to her. Of course if you don't find them on her wish list, you can PM her and ask if she'd like to put them there so you can send them together.
  2. Post in the Book Bazaar. Make sure to list the 3 titles and ISBNs in your post and offer to post them directly to the first person who PMs you that has all 3 books on her wish list.

Good Afternoon, I would like to locate a box of books in the Great Illustrated Classics series. When I search on it, books come up one by one. How can I locate it in box-o-books? Thanks so much!!

Aloka, what exactly are you asking for?  are you looking for a boxed set?  if so, unless you have the ISBN there probably isn't a good way to find it.

Box-o-books does not refer to boxed sets, it is something else entirely. You probably wont find any box sets listed together on this site because of the original topic of this thread, box sets are only worth one point, no matter how many books might be in them. Your best bet would be to post in the bazaar asking if anyone has it, but be prepared to pay a credit for each book it contains.

I put a note about my box sets in the Book Bazaar.  I tended to knock one or two credits off (depending on the size of the set & how many of the books were WL'd).   All of them went. Most quickly, some took a bit.

(edited to add: I've noticed lots of box sets on WLs where the individual books had many copies posted.   Some folks only want books at 3:1 or 4:1 rate, so I doubt even if you could contact the box set person directly they'd be interested in spending the appropriate # of credits on the books.  Which is why I just head to the BB.   Even if the books are WL'd I've found it not reliable that the rest of the series is WL'd by the same person and I wouldn't want to split the box up.)
