Hi,

When I first came on board with PBS in March I thought it would be a good idea to buy 2nd hand books that were popular. Hahahahaha!

The Purpose-Driven Life: What on Earth Am I Here For? :: Rick Warren
ISBN-13: 9780310205715 - ISBN-10: 0310205719
Copies Available: 1,292

How long do you think this book will take to move off my shelf.?

No really!  Although I am a sly fox (not).

How long do you think it will really take to be number one?

There are 2,289 member on PBS right now. That should be sufficient. If only 1,291 members would just request this book, my book would be number 1! Come on guys. You can do it!

By all means the "best movers" are the unusal ones.

I posted a book on how to make chicken coops.  There were 43 people lined up waiting for that book.    43 for a book on chicken coops!!!

Apparently everyone wants their hens to live in condos!!

Oh a book on chicken coops! I missed that one.  Wonder what a dragon loving creature was doing with that book in the first place!

Elona - you never know. Once you have someone browsing your shelf, it may be just what they wanted. And if they click on it from your shelf it is your book they are ordering regardless what # copy it is in the system.    It has happened to me several times.  Good luck, I'm gonna go peek at your bookshelf.

Marilyn--the only way I know to find out how many of a certain book is posted is to put it on your reminder list.  When you look at your reminder list, you can see how many copies are available.

I wish PBS would let us see how many copies are available in the regular book listing, or on our book shelves.

Elona,

Here is a strategy that has worked for me.  I have found new homes for many books as well as earned much needed credits this way:  Pair it up with one or 2 similar books and offer the grouping for one credit.  Have the member order one of the books & just send the other 1 or 2 as a freebie.  Try to think of a catchy title for your post or just offer it as a deal.  I am sure you can figure out something.   Good luck!!

Chicken coops - who knew??  I think the most interesting thing that happened to me was I posted a copy of The Stupidest Angel, which my book club read & decided was really the Stupidest Book - we just wanted something with a Christmas theme. Anyway, unknown to me, it was a wish list book.  The member who got it first had to cancel the order because she had already gotten a copy, so I reposted it, & it was immediately snapped up by someone else.  I am still asking myself WHY????
