So, I'm curious about how many books you have on your wishlist that you are the only wisher for. It seems to me that I have quite a few... For example: Things that make us (Sic) by Martha Brockenbrough (a book about grammar), Below the Salt by Thomas Costain (historical fiction), Carpe Diem: Put a Little Latin in your Life by Harry Mount (another language book), two other language-related books, and Perfect Symmetry: The Accidntal Discovery of Buckminsterfullerene by Jim Baggott (a science book about discovery of the Bucky Ball). And that's just on the first page! Wow, I am a big fat nerd. Anyway, care to share any of yours? About how many are on your list?

I believe I currently have 2 books on my wishlist, one of which I'm 1/1 on.  Too lazy to click over and check, though!

Only three:

Golden Thread:  Twenty-five Hundred Years of Solar Architecture and Technology, Ken Butti & John Perlin

Global Warming:  Understanding the Forecast, David Archer

The Debt Threat, Noreena Hertz (I've listed three editions; for two of them, I'm 1 of 1, for the other I'm 2 of 2)

I have twenty other books that have only nine or fewer wishers.  I would bet that for most of those, I'm much more likely to get one of the books that have hundreds of wishers first.

I have 3 on my list that I have been number 1 for since 2007, when I put them on my list. I have been 100+ for books that I have since gotten and reposted.

Lots!  A couple I expect to get in the next few weeks or months... some.. probably never, LOL.   But, if it ever happens, I'll be a happy BFS camper.  :)

I have 10 out of 48, so I guess I'm right there with you in nerdishness.

I get some recommendations from oddball sources, though. Two are from my meditation instructor, and 3 are from an "e-friend" that lives in India, so her reading tastes are not typical American fare.

Tons!  But Mary Anne is right, it's the popular books with dozens of wishers that come in first.  Sigh.

A lot! In addition to a whole bunch of books on autism and Asperger's Syndrome, I'm also the only wisher for:

The Age of the Conglomerates by Thomas Nevin (dystopian fiction)

Be More Chill by Ned Vizzini (teen fiction)

It's My Life by Melody Carlson (teen Christian fiction)

Monstering: Inside America's Policy of Secret Interrogations and Torture in the Terror War by Tara McKelvey (current events)

Tainted Trail by Wen Spencer (science fiction)

I have eclectic tastes :)

Of 47 books on my wish list, I'm 1/1 on only 3.  It's cool being 2 out of 101, though, on an Alexander McCall Smith book!

There are 130 books on my WL, and of those, there are 25 that are 1 of 1.  I wasn't shocked by the amount, though. Some have been on my list, for quite some time, and I DO receive them occassionally even after a year's time! I check the list monthly to see the book's WL position. Some I order from Inter Library Loan since they'll probably never become available on PBS. The ones that seem to dwell on the WL longest are English authors. Does anyone else find that to be so? Some of the books are so difficult to find that even ILL can't locate copies! When I get that notice, I revaluate my need for that book..

Okay, I just had to go check my totals, since everyone else is. I have 42/199 books on my WL that I am 1/1 on. I think I am the nerdiest so far.

Jennifer - That's quite an impressive display of nerdiness!

Cindy - I know what you mean.  I don't have anything that good, but I even find it cool when there are several hundred people after me even if I'm still at a pretty high number.

I had 9, but now I have 6.  Somehow I had added three "short isbn" (six or fewer digits) books to my wishlist.  Kind of pointless, since the number applies only to that specific copy of the book, and only if it is reposted without being taken off & put back on.  So I've deleted those and I'm down to 6.  Thanks for the topic--it made me do some literary gardening.
