Here are 150 different solitaire games, ranging from simple to fiendish, using one, two, or three decks of cards.
Everyone knows how to play simple Canfield and double Canfield and various other variations on Canfield. But do you know how to play Royal Families? San Juan Hill? Shah of Persia?
If you like to play cards--by yourself or with others--this is the book for you. Games, puzzlers, ESP tests--there's something for everyone in this book.

Picked this up originally with thoughts of using it to program solitaire games for computer, but never got around to it. Lots of solitaire variants here, and clear instructions.
