An excellent psychological thriller! The combination of parapsychology and real-world detective work keeps the pages turning! Shuman delivers an explosive first novel....looking forward to reading his next novel "Last Breath".
A bit disappointing as I expected much more then a sometimes confusing plot. In the end everything ran together but I missed the excitement. I found the ability to look into the last 18 seconds of a murdered person intriguing plot wise but it doesn't really focus on the ability itself or the ability to solve the crimes. As an introduction to a series, the second book Last breath has just been published in Aug. last year, I would have expected a better introduction of the main character Sherry Moore, which played more a featured part in the novel. Few of the elements felt original to me.
Initially I requested this book yrs ago after reading a review on Stephen Kings List of what he was currently reading.Did not Dissappoint ,is the first I have read by George D Shuman..but will not be the last.
A heart-stopping thriller concerning women who are disappearing without a trace. A blind woman who can see the last 18 seconds of a person's life by holding a that dead person's hand helps solve the mystery. Along the way she loose the man most precious to her.
Excellent,Excellent!! Fantastic first book by this author that will leave you on the edge of your seat til the last page! The phone rang at a pivotal moment in the book and I jumped!! Eerie! Dont read in the dark!
I don't know where all these good reviews came from, I can barely give it a 1 star rating. None of the characters are interesting and Shuman has to give so much description about each one, it is so filled with unnecessary descriptions you can skip and skim to finally come to a good part but alas I never found that part. It is very very slow and it isn't anywhere near a suspense or a thriller, if it even had mystery to it I didn't find it. If Shuman is going to make a series he'll have to come up with something more interesting than this one and if a series develops I just don't see it as a good one
The author is very detailed in his writing. The book has good deal of information about the main character to begin with it takes a little time to get to the drama of the book. However, it is a good book to read.
The last 18 seconds in a persons life are the thoughts that are read by the beautiful blind redhead. The plotlines become intertwined to reveal the origin of the psychic's hidden past and unravel the mystery of another serial killer.
