I wanted to ask this of a live help person, but no one is online right now.

I was offered a wishlist book that has been on my wishlist since March of 2010!  I accepted the offer and requested the book, then the sender removed the book from her bookshelf because it was unpostable.  She didn't notice it when she first posted it... but that's not my issue here.  = )  After she canceled our transaction, I noticed that I am now number 5 in line for this book, when I was obviously first when the book was offered to me.  What happened?  And how do I get my place in line back?  Four years is a long time to wait for a book, but now I'm going to have to wait even longer.

Help?

~Jori

There is no reason to assume that you were first in line when you were offered the book. Offers are often received in a place other than the 1st spot.

The first 4 people could have Requester Conditions that the poster denied and they ended up at your request.

The first 4 people could have used their Not Now buttons, sending the offer to you.

The sender could be a Gold Key member whom you are a Friend with and they could have posted it directly to you. Or they could have seen you in the forums, clicked on your Wish List button and posted directly to you.

The first 4 people could have had their wish on Hold. They could be on Vacation Hold and not be using Auto Request. Or be out of Credits, on Auto-Request, and on Vacation Hold so they would just be skipped.

Any combination of the above could cause someone in a later than #1 spot get an offer. I've seen someone post the same question about a #17 spot and it was a legitimate combination of people on Hold, etc.

The Wish List is just a line people in order of the date they clicked on the +Wish button. No one gets put in the line ahead of the date they actually wished for the book so you should always be safe to assume anyone in front of you in line wished for the book before you and anyone who wished for it after you are behind you in line..
