This was a new one for me.  A member had posted a 2 for 1 deal in the book bazaar, I requested one paperback, sent a PM for the freebie, as well as a post naming the books in the request and the freebie.  I would not have ordered the books if they were not 2 for 1.  After waiting for the books so long that PBS labeled the requested book lost in the mail, I received only the book I requested, and not the second book.  I sent member a PM asking if the second book was mailed separately, but have not gotten response.  Anyone else ever have this situation or any advice on what I should do next?

That is so frustrating.  Have you double-checked to make sure the book you did receive came from the person offering the deal?  Is it possible that you might have thought you were ordering from a certain person's shelf, but the order went through FIFO?  It could also be that the person offering the deal let the request time out and it went to the next person in FIFO.  The third option is that this swapper just didn't honor her word and follow through with the deal.

How long has it been since you sent the first PM?

Thanks for your ideas.  I did get the book from the same person who offered the deal.  It has only been about 24 hours since I sent the PM, so I am still hoping for a response.  I'm just not sure what my next step should be if I don't hear back.

If you don't hear back within a week, go down to the blue "contact us" link at the bottom of any page and use the "feedback" option to let the pbs team know what's going on.  They won't try to sort out a dispute, but if someone isn't communicating, they'll intervene.  They're big on communication.  And sharing.  And not running with scissors. :-)
