I took a fellow member up on a 2 for 1 offer hours after he posted the offer.  He didn't asked to be pm'd.  I responded on the forum.

I got the book I ordered, but not the freebie.

I intend to mark the book received since I DID receive it.

Would you pursue the freebie?  Or let it go?

Have you confirmed you got the book from the same person offering the deal? I'd at least comment about the freebie in the receiving process if it is the correct member.

I would ALWAYS send a PM to the member when taking them up on a deal whether they mention it or not. It could be a member that gets tons of requests and would not necessarily notice your post in the Bazaar. He may have seen the order, but no PM and just sent the book not realizing you had requested a freebie. He should have been more diligent, but it is much more clear and easier to match up PMs to requests than with responses to posts in the Bazaar. I'd always print out the PM and stick it in the cover of the book that was requested.

Thanks, Melanie.  It's definitely the right person, and I *do* send a pm when the offer asks for that.  One other person answered on the forum, with a few hours after I did, but that was it.

Guess I'll just let it go.  In the end, I got a nice hardcover book with a dustjacket for one credit.  It could have been worse!
