Well, they don't really come out and say that it's all a bunch of hoakum (they probably don't want to be told "I told you so" when they are the first to be vaporized by the Agboolaian Swarm), but to them, there really isn't much to worry about. They are more fascinated by the apocalyptic outlook of the Western civilization up to today, and for me, that was the slowest part of the book. It looks like I will have to do my Chrismas shopping this year, after all. 2013 Update: Whew! now I can relax!
