There are Bad Luck categories, and Good Luck categories. Read six books and your name will go into a drawing for one credit. You may choose all Bad Luck, all Good Luck, or a combination of both.   Over-achievers may read any 12, plus a bonus 13th book to be put into a drawing for 2 credits.

BAD LUCK

1.  Black Cats.  Black, cat, witch, dark, moon, the Letter B.  A Bucket of Ashes, P.B. Ryan, 29 Mar, 4.5/5. The 6th & last Nell Sweeney book. In this one, Nell (& Will, of course) solve the mysterious death of Nell's remaining brother. Wonderful series.

Ruso & Tilly travel to Verulamium to try to find missing tax money and the dead tax collector' brother. By the time the book ends, we have four murders, a case of counterfeit money, villains that look like they are going to get away with their crimes and an orphaned baby.

2.  Four-leaf clover.  Ireland, any island, plants, gardens, the Letter V. Mr. Churchill's Secretary, Susan Elia MacNeal, 13 Jul, 4/5. Delightful mystery; introduces Maggie Hope, a young English mathematician, raised and educated in America, but now living in London. Will continue the series.

6. Throw rice.  Bride, groom, wedding, marriage, children, mistress, the Letter R. Instruments of Darkness, Imogene Robertson, 20 Jul, 4.5/5. First Crowther & Westerman book & it's a great one! A string of murders, children targeted for murder, poisons, hangings, stabbings, and two slightly different time periods (1780 & 1775). Who will end up master of Thornleigh Hall? Great fun!

7.  White cats.  White, cat, moon, dream, stars, the Letter W. The Demon's Parchment? Jeri Westerson OR Among the Mad, Jacqueline Winspear

8.  Horseshoes!  Horses, racing, any sport, competition, the letter H.

In this story, Nell & Will are on the hunt for the real killer of an Irish thug, thus proving that Nell's friend Detective Colin Cook has been falsely accused. Love this series!

*Mount TBR.  Book that’s been on your TBR pile the longest. The 6th Lamentation, William Brodrick OR Green Darkness, Anya Seton OR The Observations, Jane Harris

*One of these words in the title:  Good, Bad, Luck, Thirteen.

*War is definitely unlucky!  Read a book set during any war, in any country. Every Secret Thing, Susanna Kearsley, 3 Feb, 3.5/5.
