Another year to enjoy these genres.  Just say why you liked or disliked each one.

1.  Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, 1/4/2023, 5 stars.  An exciting start this YA fantasy series that ends leading the reader to next volume to see what happens to Raz and his friends when a girl he won't admit he loves is spirited away.  Of course, he vows to find her and deal with the kidnapper in a permanent way.

2.  Lies Sleeping (Rivers of London, Bk 7) by Ben Aaronovitch, 1/5/2024, 3 stars.  Having read several books by this author with the same characters I found this one a bit slow until the ending which featured an exciting chase and climax.  However, am still ready to move on to another series.

3.  Pendragon's Banner (Pendragon's Banner, Bk 2) by Helen Hollick 1/19/2024, 4 stars.  Hollick brings her formidable talents to the romantic legend of King Arthur.  Delving through various facts and folklore, the author spins a tale that demonstrate the strength of love between the Queen and himself while

4.  The Bull and the Spear (Corum, Bk 4) by Michael Moorcock, 1/22/2024, 4 stars.  Corum grieves the loss of his wife he is summoned to rescue the poeple of Tuha-na-Cremm Croich but to do so he must leash the power of a great black bull and use the Spear.  This is his adventure to fulfill the goal.

5.  Ready Player Two (Ready Player One, Bk 2) (Large Print) by Ernest Cline, 1/27/2024, 2 stars.  Large print by mistake but one can read it even when the eyes are tired.  Envision a world so technically designed that it's hard to interact with people in real time.  The major problems such as climate change, world hunger and social unrest still exist.

6.  The Case of Charles Dexter Ward by H.P. Lovecraft This is a horror story.  A doctor, Ward's father, and others investigate the strange doings resulting from research by Charles.  Learning that he has an ancestor who exploited and used others to extend his life, he encounters this ancestor who uses his (Charles) body to return to current times.

7.  The Winds of Limbo (Roads Between the Worlds, Bk 2) by MIchael Moorcock, 2/8/2024, 4 stars.  A charismatic man known as the Fireclown appeals to people.  His idealistic comments bring more and more to hear his speeches.   However, the government is suslplicious and he is followed, forceds to hide to elude capture.  When an explosion occurs in his laboratory he is blamed and labeled as a terrorist but there is much more to the matter than appears.

8.  The Sheep Look Up by John Brunner, 2/17/2024, 5 stars.  Look into the future with this author as he  projects what is happening to our world.  A leader to protect our planet, ensure peace, and focus on how computers may affect our lives.  He is amazingly accurate in his predictions.  Readers can't help but compare them to how our world is today.  Excellent read!

9.  The Oak and the Ram (Corum, Bk 5) by Michael Moorcock, 2/11/2024, 4 stars

10. The Time Paradox (Artemis Fowl, Bk 6)  by Eoin Colfer, 2/25/2024, 3.5 stars.  Join Artemis and Holly as they travel back in time to locate a lemur whose brain fluid can save his mother from a rare and believed extinct disease.  As usually happens with the two the rescue if fraught with danger and excitement.  Fun, fun read.
