I'm having a hard time finding 5 and 10 cent stamps. Tried buying them from the post office on line but they show them with a line going through the 5 and the the 10 and the price for them is very expensive individually. Tried to buy them from the local post office but they didn't have them and they couldn't tell me if they were discontinued. Does anyone know? Thanks |

The line going through the number is just on the image online; it's on many of the stamps. It's so folks don't try to print the image and use it as a stamp. I found the "American Toleware Stamp" for 5 cents and a sheet of 20 is $1. You can buy multiples. There are other denominations available in sheets and rolls, you just have to search through the stamps a bit. Try using the 'sheets of stamps' on the link on the left side of the page; there are quite a few of the smaller values available.

They are not being discontinued, they just aren't that popular so many offices do not stock large quantities of them. You may need to call around or as Linda suggested you can buy them online. I have to say I don't understand your statement "and the price for them is very expensive individually"? Stamps are sold at the post office for what they are worth, there is no markup and no tax. A 5 cent stamp costs 5 cents. Good luck |

Thanks for the info Ladies. Mary: On line they actually showed a high price for one stamp at $2.50 per stamp. That was why I questioned it. But, I'm going to go back and check again, now that I know the line across the stamp doesn't mean anything. Appreciate your help. Lorraine |

If you really need them, I'd be happy to mail you as many as you want. I work at the post office and if I don't have enough in my office, I'd be glad to order them. (This is also something your own office should have offered.)
