Here's the deal. Media Mail rates REALLY help both the seller and buyer, but punish the seller.
Shipping 1 or 2 books weighs about a pound and costs $2.47 - Not really worth the effort.
However, each pound after the 1st only costs 42 cents.
So I can easily ship another 2 pounds of books for an extra 84 cents.
That's worth the effort.
And you, the buyer, get a better deal!

• 2 for 1 credit = = not that great a deal for either of us
• 8 for 2 credits = = 4 for each credit
• 14 for 3
• 20 for 4 credits = = 5 for each credit.
• Take ADVANTAGE!! Let your mind expand to new genres!

I think he's saying if you order 3 books you can have 15 free books.  Is that correct?

I wonder if anyone knows if the new rates for January 2013 will also apply to media mail

You asked about my 6 for 1 deal. I tried to explain about Media Mail rates. Unfortunately that's a hurdle we all have to deal with. Since it's not economically sound to ship more books for one credit then you can get for one credit, I base my offer on ALL books ordered AFTER the first two books are ordered for one credit. thereafter, all books are 6 for one credit. The purpose is not to have people order one book at a time. The purpose is to generate LOTS of books circulating so people can really take advantage of PBS. One person just ordered 4 books and I'm shipping them 20.

I tried to make it simple and clear in the posting. If someone orders 3 books they get the first 2 for one credit + the next 6 for 1 credit + the next 6 for 1 credit = 14 books total for 3 credits.

ALSO - The Post Office says nothing about uincreasing Media Mail  rates. All their news is about higher order mail and services.
