I recently have had two books going to Alabama seemingly take forever to arrive.  One has still not been marked as being received, while books mailed that same day and later that week have arrived to states further away (all were send media mail).   Has anyone else noticed this?  I've not seen delays before when mailing south and to AL in particular.   I'm wondering if it's not related to a local change in processing, but don't want to go complain if it's something others are seeing as well.

Maybe someone in the USPS Postal Reg's forum would know if there is a problem in the AL area ?  I think I'd try cross-posting there.

I don't know about AL, but I sent a package out Media Mail (with 2 WL'd books!) to NY on 3/4 which hasn't been marked received yet... but the one I sent to CA on the same day was marked received just a few days ago.  (And usually the ones to CA take longer!)  Hope it doesn't go lost... no DC & 2 WL books :(

I have a book with PBS + DC mailed out on 3/17 to PA and it hasn't been scanned anywhere - just where I said I'd mailed it.  This has happened before and it is so annoying.

Last week NJ was the black hole.  For me it seems to be GA.  I live right next door in SC.  I could have driven the books to the person myself at least 13 times now since I mailed it and it still isn't marked received.  the post office huh.  Your can't live with it and you can't live without it.

I recently had one travel from the west coast to the east coast, and the only DC scan was acceptance.  The other two packages I mailed that day were scanned at the local sorting center, no idea how one escaped.  It also appeared to travel slower than it's peers, but fortunately arrived safely!

I'm guessing that USPS has been doing some re-organizing and streamlining in attempts to cut costs.  There seem to be disturbances and the usual sorting center flows.  Hopefully the new patterns will be established soon, and glitches worked out of the system.

I'm waiting for a book that was mailed from Louisiana on 3/5.  The DC scan shows acceptance and nothing else.  I've pretty much given up on it.

I live in AL and so far I haven't had any major problems.  I do have one book on its way to me that seems to be taking longer than usual tho.  I have had a couple that seems to have taken more abuse than I've ever seen! I think the USPS employees are taking out their frustrations on my books!

I live in AL as well and it usually takes a out a week for a book to arrive once its marked mailed.  The books I mail out vary from a couple of days to almost going lost so no help there, either!!

The book I sent finally arrived ---13 days after it was mailed.   It shouldn't take that long for a single PB book to travel from Kentucky to Alabama. IMO.  Oh well.  In the end it got there and that's the important thing.
