One of my wishlist books came up and the sender sent me this pm: Hi there, the copy I have was sent to me by the publisher for review on my book blog. It's an ARC (Advanced Review Copy). Would you still like this book>? I didn't think ARC's were suppose to be posted, but offered in the BB in a special thread. Am I wrong? I pmed her back and thanked her for letting me know, but no I did not want an ARC and for her to cancel. She had accepted the request, probably so she could pm me and ask me. |

You're right, she's wrong. ARCs may not be posted into the system, although they may be offered in the Book Bazzar. |

Definitely not. You did the right thing, though it would also be good idea to politely tell the person that they're breaking the rules -- though they should already know, since it's spelled out pretty specifically. |

You are correct Connie, ARC's are unpostable FIFO. TPTB have said ARCs (and other unpostables) may be traded in the discussion forums, as long as the book condition is fully disclosed. |

Thanks everyone for your response. I thought it wasn't allowed. The sender did cancel my request and in my PBS automated email, this was her response why she canceled: Requestor no longer wanted Glad it was an automated email and they don't read it. Otherwise, they may think I don't want the book at all, which is surely not the case. I just don't want an ARC. They put me back 1st in line for the book on my wishlist. Afterwards, I did pm her back and politely told her that posting ARCs is not allowed through FIFO and that she may do that in the Book Bazaar's special thread for them. |
