Decoupage lasted into the nineteenth century and then faded.
Decoupage, as we know it, was revived in the early twentieth century in this country. Since then, it has had its ups and downs.
The prints that are used in decoupage are colored by the Decoupeurs or bought colored. These prints are then cut out and placed to form artistic designs. The design may be comprised of portions of several prints.
The main ingredients for successful Decoupage projects are patience and effort. These attributes, combined with a little artistic talent that each of us have, will lead to beautiful projects.
Black and white prints are furnished in this book. With a little patience and practice, these can be colored to achieve very pleasing effects.
