I had a WL book sent to me a few weeks ago; the member who sent it used delivery confirmation, which means I can watch the little van travel the map from their house to my house. Right? I think? You all know what van I'm talking about, yes? So I watched the van and it made it allllllllmost all the way to my house- halfway across the country, even into my state, but I never received it. Since it has been about a month, I pm-ed the member and said I wasn't holding out on them, the book just hadn't gotten here yet. No biggie. (I sent the message b/c I had one book that wasn't marked received for weeks and weeks, so I was all worried about it, but then that person sent me a message that they'd been out of the country, which I thought was very nice of them.) But now the little dc van is way back up by the sending member's state. So I don't know if they re-sent it, or if the little dc van is just PBS' estimated time of delivery. What do you think, gentle PBS members? |

It's an estimate. If, instead of looking at the map, you click on the "details" button by the transaction on your account page, you'll be able to see all the individual scans and get a better idea of where your book actually has been and where it might be now.

But, do be sure to click on the van so that the driver can tell you hello :) |

Definitely check out the details to see where things are. I have a similar situation right now; a book I ordered was supposedly sent 2/22 and the little truck shows it stalled right outside of my hometown. However, when I checked the details all that's showing is that the bar code was generated 2/19. I'm assuming that the book was mailed and the bar code simply wasn't scanned at mailing. Still 9 more days before it goes lost, so I'm hoping to see it soon. |

The little truck means nothing is there for entertainment purposes. The details section is what really matters and even that isn't always accurate. Sometimes the PO doesn't update the info and sometimes they misscan the books. I had a game book taking a long time and when I looked it said something about being returned to sender. But it was delivered just fine. |

Like Mary says, the little truck is best considered entertainment. As Brittany mentioned, it operates on estimates. Your best source of information is the data under 'details' button. You can also cut and paste the DC number into USPS site, they occassionally have more info than PBS. |

that little van even takes an ocean tour from time to time And when it does, it goes backwards! I had a member send me a book from Hawaii and that little van drove backwards all the way across the ocean and into Oregon! |

So, as always, the answer was very simple and, as always, as soon as I posted my question the book arrived. Isn't funny that it seems to happen that way so often on this forum? :) Thanks for the help gang! |

I just was telling my Hubby that the little van has been stuck at the state border for a very long time now. He said it must be stuck in state customs. He's such a kidder. |
