I'm a week or two from PBS declaring a book lost in the mail, but thanks to DC I know exactly where it is, stuck in the infamous Bell, CA sinkhole. I'm worried that as soon as PBS declares it lost, It'll go back on the (short) wish list and I'll get stuck with two copies of the same book. Can I somehow either erase it from the wishlist without it showing there or add time to the lost timeout? |

If you still have a week or two, I wouldn't worry about it overmuch. If it gets closer to the last day, and the book is still wish listed, you can add an RC to your account, and just ask anybody who posts the book "title of book" to you to decline the RC. That way, their book stays in the WL line and will go to the next person, and you don't get the book. There may be another way to avoid getting the book re-ordered for you .... but I'm not sure how. |

Ah, I didn't think of requester conditions. That's a good way to handle it. Thanks! |

You can also put your account on hold and just put any other books you are near the top on Autorequest. Also it may not still be in Bell CA. It could be enroute to you and just hasn't been scanned again. I was waiting for a book from PA and for some reason it was sent to Iowa. I'm in MD. For 2 wks it showed nothing but the Iowa scan. Then for a week it showed a scan about an hour from here. It finally showed up the day before it was supposed to go lost. |

I just looked at a couple of books I sent out - nothing is really showing in the PBS Details. I copied the tracking number and entered it into the USPS tracking site. Out of the 5 books 2 displayed more information than PBS Details. They were scanned in NJ - so they are on their way. The others have not been scanned again since they were scanned at my P.O. I am finding that very common. Short story - punch the number into the usps tracking - PBS details may not have updated! Worth a try.

DC doesn't show where a book is, it shows where it was. |
