In the box on my home page I have the following:

1 wrapper to print

1 book to mark received

2 total books en route

On my main account page it has both books I've requested on my en route to me tab.

Why would it be telling me I have one book to mark received when the 1st book still has 13 days left for delivery or until the date of system action  on 6/3? Why is it telling me now that I have one book to mark received? I have checked my transaction archive and there is nothing there. If I click on the link 1 book to mark received, it takes me to my 2 books en route tab.

Thanks, Pam

That automatically shows up after a book has been en-route for a certain number of days, though I never noticed exactly how many. It's just a reminder.

It adds the "to marked received" notation after around 14 days or if it is scanned as delivered by the USPS. It is automatic by the system. The average delivery time is something like 9 days. It is just saying that by the averages, the book should be there and ready to mark received soon.

I have checked my transaction archive and there is nothing there.

Nothing will ever be in your TA as long as it is on your Main Account page. It only gets to the TA if it is completed or cancelled.

They distinguish it that way to try to register with people who might've forgotten to mark a book as received and aren't looking closely enough at their tabs. It's similar to that string of emails we get that start saying "Are you SURE you didn't get this book?" "Did you look on the front porch?" etc.

It's irritating when you're watching your account and want the book to show up and PBS is implying you're not holding up your end, but the goal is to ensure people don't forget their end of the deal because they're happy to have gotten a book.

Most books arrive within a week or two, even though the system gives them 26 or 35 days to arrive before marking them lost.

Thanks for all the advice. I am still waiting on the book at this point. But hopefully it will be here soon.

"Did you look on the front porch?"

Craig don't suggest this, they'll send even more emails!

Pardon my stupidity:  I just received a book, the sender never marked it mailed, so there is no box for Book Received.  It's still in my On Route To list.  If I wait, will the system kick that in or do I need to send the sender a credit?

Judy,

Send them a PM asking them to mark it mailed so you can mark it received. That will keep the transaction records straight.

After I posted the dumb question, I went back and PMed them, they promptly marked it and I promptly did the same and all is well.  Thanks for the reply.  My brain hasn't engaged to the common sense mode yet<G>.

Did I mention how much I really really like this site?

Welcome to PBS Judy.  And not a dumb question.  That one arises every so often, and the system will not give you the buttons to mark the book received until the sender marks it mailed...it happens.  Glad you & the sender got it fixed before another copy was mailed to you.

Ok, here's another one.  I've had a book enroute to me since the 11th, never have gotten it.  System said wait till the 26th to contact them.  This morning, with one more day to go, it has totally disappeared from my list, lol.  No big deal as it was probably lost in the mail, I assume this is standard for the club regarding these "lost" books, plus I now have so many books from the members it will take a while to read them.  That's why I like this club.  Everything is done for you with very little effort on your part.  Plus I've also learned several good tips about wrapping the book properly.  Thanks.

When the book was removed from your my account page, an email was sent to you. If you didn't get it, you can still read it on your Club Communications page.
