Hi folks,

I've got a copy of Kyra Davis' Sex, Murder and a Double Latte.  This is the book that has the fake "stained" cover/pages.

The back cover has a simulated coffee ring, and there are fake coffee drips throughout the pages.

My question is, I can't figure out if what's on the spine of my book is part of the "look" or not.

Right through the title on the spine there is about an inch or where the pink color is "rubbed" off in places- not completely gone, just partially.  I'm stumped.  I can't decide if it's part of the cover art look or if somehow this copy got slightly scraped in some inexplicable way.

BTW, if this isn't part of the cover art, what's your opinion about posting?  The book is otherwise in great shape.  There's only one letter of the title that's partially rubbed out- the M.

I don't really think it is excessive wear compared to a lot of books I've received, but am I not thinking of something?

Thanks for the feedback,

Hmm I just sent mine off (that I got off of here from someone else) so I can't remember what it looked like. I remember the coffee stain on the back cover but I dont' remember fake coffee drips through out the pages. Maybe I was just so immersed in the book that I didn't notice them?

I don't remember any rub offs either but hopefully there is someone here with a newer copy?

I'm kind of torn on the book shape. I went to the used bookstore the other day and bought a couple of books that other's would say were unpostable because they had creased spines and such. To me the book is still quite readable. I buy a lot of books new too because I love reading new books but I also compare PBS to a used bookstore. If a used bookstore will take a book, I think it should be postable on PBS. I love it when I get a book from someone that is like-new as I'm sure whoever I send one of my new (only read by me) books appreciates it. That isn't always possible though and I get that. If  a book is in pretty rough shape (these are books that I have received from other members) I always tell the person ordering it about the shape of it so they can back out if they are looking for something in pristine condition.

Sara assuming  the coffee stains are part of the book art, your book is postable. The color fading on the spine does not make it unpostable.

Collette, creased book spines are totally postable. Er...wait... on second thought no they are not so just send me all of your books for free. :-P

edited for spelling

LOL, you are a very funny girl!! It's a good thing that many of mine are new, that way I wouldn't have to send you all of mine and overwhelm your bookshelves. ;)

No kidding Susan! As if there is no such thing as being overwhelmed in a "good" way. ;-)
