I posted a paperback  book that is the only copy available right now.  The hardcover version has a waiting list of 43 people.  Is there a way to notify those people that I have a paperback version available. I  know I have wished both versions before to increase my chances of getting the book (and would remove the other version if one was filled)  I've also wished hardcover copies by mistake.

There isn't a way to notify them directly yourself, but the system will usually send an email letting those wishers know that there is another version available.  They could have that option turned off so they don't get those emails though.  Some other things people do are post in the Book Bazaar that you have the book available, or you could tag the hardcover book wish something like "Available in paperback ISBN XXXXX."

They should be notified by PBS.  At one time I had some hardbacks wishlisted, I was notified every time a paperback edition became available. Hopefully, your book should move soon and make some wisher happy!

Great!  Thank you.  I'll try the bazaar if it doesn't get snatched up soon.  I didn't know that about the other version notification.  This website

s setup continues to amaze me.  It's very well done.

I don't think the offers of "similar" books are always offered.  I've gotten a couple of HC's offered by PBS when PB's were on my WL.  But it rarely happens.  That surprises me.

When I was collecting the Harry Potter series for my son, I would get e-mail notifications for paperback versions all the time.  It got to be a little annoying so I went and turned that feature off.  But it is a good thing if you don't mind which type you want.

Sometimes that e-mail notification system works and other times not--I recently did another check for "in-system" wishlist books in other versions and found 3 books that were available under different ISBNS in system that way--by clicking on the author's name. I know that if it's a book without an ISBN where the poster has to create one by entering the book data, it usually doesn't get cross-referenced, but these were just earlier versions of the same paperback book with the author/title and all of that in the PBS database. So it's weird I wouldn't have gotten notified, but I didn't.

That said, a lot of times if I have the hardcover version of a book listed, that's the only version I want as I'm trying to get a sturdier copy for my Keeper shelf and I've probably already read the paperback version. And it seems like on those, I get notified every time the PB version gets posted. Of course! LOL

I was going to say, Christine, I was going to take a look at your bookshelf to see if I could determine which book you were talking about, but I see you have the button with the link to your bookshelf turned off, so if someone wanted to browse your shelf and order directly from you, we couldn't. Do you have that turned off purposely or didn't realize you did?

When I was collecting the Harry Potter series for my son...

Same thing happened to me, (wishlist for audio). I had to turn off the email notification.

I recommend the book bazzar idea too!!!!
