Does anyone have any experience with acai berries or supplements? I am thinking of starting, and didn't know what to expect.

I tried a sample of juice at a natural foods market.  I can't recall the brand though.  I think it was a 32oz. bottle and 1oz. was the suggested daily dose.  I didn't find it pleasant tasting (and was told most people hate the taste), but it wasn't overly horrible either - definitely doable in 1oz.  Sorry I couldn't offer more help.

I love the V-8 V-Fusion Vegetable & Fruit juice, particualrly the Acai Mixed Berry 100% juice. It's got every super-food you can think of in it and is delicious! Best part is it's readily available at the grocery store.

FYI: The 5 o'clock news (on ABC) just did a piece about the "Acai diets" on the 'net. Some fed agency is sending out alerts that the companies selling the diets & suppliments online are frauds & to be very, very wary of ordering online.

Boston- Make sure to read the fine print, for that colon cleanse. I did that last year around this time and they scammed me. They say you have 14 days to try the product, they recommend doing it over 7 days. Mine did not arrive until 9 days after I had ordered it, and after trying it for a week and not getting great results I sent it back thinking I would be fine. WRONG! the trial starts the day you order it so there was no way I could ahve sent it back in time. I paid around $30 (with return shipping) for this trial that only gave me huge amounts of gas.  SO please read the fine print, and start counting the days from when your ordered it not when its received.

That acai stuff is meant to be good.

Buying online can be great! If you buy from reputable companies. As I mentioned in reply here weeks ago, Acai has become a product that online merchants are selling fraudulently. 

Amazon has some Acai suppliments & products, and I trust shopping at Amazon.

In your situation (I've been reading your post about your current health condition) I would strongly advise you to check with your doctor before you buy any suppliments or Chinese herbs, etc.  Even if they are purchased at legitamate places, some all natural herbs & suppliments, eg. St. John's Wort, can interact with certain medications.

Grapefruit, for example, can be harmful to people taking certain medications.

Please use caution when adding something new to your diet, and when you shop online, becareful about buying things from just any company.

I took the pill did the pay only for shipping what a waste of money did nothing you have to watchout too they charge you $69.00 for them the next month billing statement. I am know taking the diet pill phentrimine has done awsome in 3 weeks I am down 10 pounds and counting

I started taking AcaiBlast supplement a few months ago, recommended by my mother. I take 2 pills every morning.My arthritis doesn't hurt anymore, i don't get aches and pains like i used to, my mood has improved and i have more energy and have lost weight. I get mine from the VitaminShoppe.

Pleasant tasting, but amazingly expensive. It's juice....and they price it like gold.

I tried it & it did absolutely NOTHING for me in terms of weight loss.  I've also read it's a hoax.  The antioxidants are good for you but that's about it.

I work at a health food store and this is my 2 cents on the whole mess. ( This is what I tell customers who ask me about the weight loss aspect).

Acai is a berry. Berries are awesome good for you. You should eat some every day. Will this product help you loose weight? Maybe. Depends on why you are overweight. Obesity is caused by underlying factors. Once we address those factors the weight will come off. Your body doesn't want to be overweight it wants to be healthy. Is it slow metabolism, food allergies, poor food absorption, blood sugar imbalance that is causing your weight problem? Once we find out and work on the underlying problem the weight comes off. And Acai may or may not do that.

And yes some of the on line offers are a scam, some are not ( I have heard a lot about that! People very upset!)

I do know that some of the acai berry web sites have stolen before and after photos from other sites - Brad Pilon's for one.  My theory is that if it does what they say, they shouldn't have to steal someone else's photo - especially someone who doesn't take thier product!

Me and my Grandmother tired the Acia Berry Supplements. They worked for me, but we quickly realized after about a month of taking them that I was getting Allergie/Sinus infections. That quickly ended the Acia. My Grandma continued taking them and they worked ok for her. She lost a little bit.

One reason why you would get a sinus infection from the acai is you are probably suceptible to them because of the condition of your sinuses.  What causes sinusitis is when you have to much of one type of fungus in your sinus cavity.  Almost like a yeast infection.  This is contributed by a diet of too much sugars, meat, and dairy.  All fruits have natural sugars in them and by taking the supplements you might of been basically causing a yeast infection in your sinus cavity.  It is only a possibility my mom has sinusitis and when I put her on a diet controlling the sugars meat and dairy intake her condition improves.
