I had a wish list offer last week for a book I've been dying to read, and the sender used DC to send it. It hasn't shown up as scanned (I know, I know...it doesn't necessarily mean anything)...but then I went to look at their shelf and it said "This member's account has been closed or suspended." Does anyone know what that means??

Virginia, I have been having the same situation.   It was not a WL book, but I did order a book and DC was used but no sign of a scan in over a week.  Today, however, I saw that there was a scan, so I'm hopeful the book will get here.  The person's account says the same thing, though "closed or suspended".   I hope you see a scan on yours soon, too.

As for what it means, it could mean they had some sort of crisis and requested the Team to suspend their account.  It could also mean that, for some reason, their account is being looked at by the Team.  Clearly they are still a member at this point, since it doesn't say No Longer a Member.

I believe they changed the message that appears on deactivated accounts.  Where it used to say "No longer an account holder" I'm pretty sure it now says "closed or suspended" in all cases.  The new wording covers multiple scenarios, from temporarily frozen accounts to those which have been completely closed.  The previous wording made accounts that were only frozen for a few days appear closed permanently, so they seem to have opted for a more ambiguous statement.  From what I understand no account can actually be completely removed.  All they can really do is restrict access to an account and walk away.  Still, there is always a chance that either of the Senders involved in your stories are simply experiencing a temporary setback and not complete shutdowns.  And in any event, rest assured that PBS will do what it can to rectify whatever results your situations may bring.

Ahhh, you are quite right, James.  I'm showing my "out of the loop"ness.  ;-)  I had assumed (that word, I should know better, lol) that it was a disticntion between an account peramently closed.  But I have an old BoB that I never got and that member used to have the old "no longer account holder" message...I see it is now the new "suspended or closed" message.   I'm up to date now, lol.  Thanks!
