I had my account on vacation hold over thanksgiving but still I got a request for a book. I thought while your account was on hold you did not get any book requests or any wishlist accepts. Did I get this all wrong? I want to avoid having this happen when I got away on vacation again. thanks

You shouldn't have gotten a request.   You wish list books that are on automatic will be ordered for you if you have a credit.

Are you sure the request didn't come in as soon as you took your acct off of vacation hold or came in just before it went on vacation hold?

It happened when it was on vacation hold, I am lucky that the final notice came in today and I was able to respond.  I am guessing it was just a glitch in the system.  It seems the book was a WL for someone else.

Is it possible that it got into a Wish List hold right before your vacation Hold took effect? I had that once, an hour before the Vacation Hold went in effect a book was ordered. Luckily it wasn't a real vacation, just an I-am-to-busy-to-ship hold.

It's also possible that it was in the 1hr buyers remorse hold when you put your shelf on hold.  The request doesn't show up during that time.  The book on your shelf would have a ! next to it indicating that's in the 1hr hold.  So if you didn't look at your shelf, I know I rarely do, then that's what could have happened.

Did you post the WL book before or after your account went on hold?  If you posted it before, it was offered to the WL person at the time of the posting, which was still before the hold.  Maybe they didn't respond for a day or two, and then you got the request after your account went on hold.  I bet that's what happened. 

I will remember to not post any books a week before I go on vacation next time. Just lucky I caught it in time so the person can get their book.
