Though ACE RIVALS was ruled ineligible for the first place honor because its target audience is for 14-18 year olds, but not for 6-12 bracket, the six greatly qualified judges couldn't resist reviewing it.
They feel its a great blend of adventuresome fiction and absorbing history of air combat in WWII's South Pacific region and during the Korean Conflict - and as a uniquely "wholesome" tale of war.
It was awarded the best entry in the "Novels Division".
