A new book came out this week and I want to add it to my wishlist, but it's not on the system yet! The only way I know of to add a book is through posting one. So I thought I would ask if there is another way. Sometimes I see advance postings (i.e., a book that is in the system even though it isn't officially published yet), so I thought maybe...

It's a long shot anyway, I probably won't see one up for trade for a long time, but I could be first in line!  ;-)

Add it to your TBR, that way you don't have to worry about having it posted on your shelf. Once it's on your TBR, click on the book details and then hit the WL button. Works for me most of the time--but sometimes even that won't work and you'll just have to keep trying until the database catches up with it.

Sometimes you need to come back several hours later.  The system does searches for book info.  By putting the number into your TBR or RL, it will trigger a search.

If  a new book isn't in the system when I search by the ISBN # I usually wait about 10 minutes and then search again. 99% of the time it shows up then.

Is the book already in print?  Because I would be surprised if it's not already in the system, unless it's from a small independant or foreign publisher.  Usually the ones that need 'coaxed' in are future releases :-)
