Hi everyone!  I just joined last night, and added books to my shelf and wish lists.  I have 2 credits, how do I use them?  Will the site automatically set it up for me, or do I request the book manually?

Hi Christina - Your question is more than can be answered easily here.  Read the help center as Karen suggested.  For a quick overview to get the basics down, click here:  http://www.paperbackswap.com/help/how_to_swap_books.php

Is my wishlist the correct place to add books that I want sent?  Or should I add the books some other way?

Thanks for the link, by the way.

Hi Christina! The books that you put on your wishlist are ones that are not currently in the system to order. Usually the demand is greater than the supply. The wishlist is the 'line' that you get into to wait for the book. As copies of those books are posted, the member currently in the number 1 spot gets the book than everyone else moves up.

Their is an order this book button for the titles that are on people's bookshelfs and available right now. You can look through individual shelfs or search for titles and authors using the search feature.

I hope this helps. Have fun finding some books to read. Welcome to PBS!

Another big hint for you is to go through your WL, and click on the author's name.  A list of all his/her books will come up, some in green and some in red.

The green titles are available in the system to be ordered and the red ones are not.  Many titles have multiple ISBN's put out and the one you are WL'ing may have another number for the same type of binding (assuming you want only hardbacks or paperbacks).

You can find other versions of your WL books in this manner.

I looked at your WL briefly and see that there are paperbacks of Brother Odd  available.

Just wanted to share a secret with you.....lol     Karen

Thank you very much!  Those tips do help a lot!  I'm a member of a site similar to this one, and it's been a tad confusing since it's so different.  I do prefer the system here, it seems to have a much higher book turnover rate.  I'm excited, yay!

Again, thanks so much... you guys answered everything that was confusing me, lol...

If you haven't already, you can also visit the Book Bazaar forum.  People use it to highlighth their shelf and to run specials so you can stretch your 2 credits into more than two books if you find someone running a deal (2 books for one credit, etc) that has books you would like!

And welcome to one of the best sites ever!!  (IMHO)
