Okay -- This is it.  I officially need help.  I have 4 books coming in the mail from PBS........I went to the library today and found 3 books from my wish list...........and then I came home and dropped 12 bucks at Amazon for  "The Windflower"  which everyone says is amazing.   And the most ridiculous part of it all is that I really haven't had time to read recently nor will I for quite some time.  And the spare time I do have, I spend sitting here looking at what else to order from PBS.

Is it me?  Or is anyone else nuts?

I find I am worse when I have a lot of credits.  I am not sure why, but I feel this need to spend spend spend rather than read the books I have waiting and then order more books.  I probably have just received 40 new books to add to my TBR pile thanks to 4/1 and 5/1 deals.

I agree, it is time to step away from the computer and start to enjoy these books.

Thanks for helping me realize this :-)

I have 30-some books on the way (from PBS).  If anyone knows the cure to this sickness, please let me know, lol!

You just described me, except I have about 30 in my TBR and 6 on pre-order from Amazon.  Then, I just purchased additional credits from PBS so I could order more.  I'm also scouting used book sales.  It's an illness IMHO.

My TBR is hovering around 300.  Everytime I seem to make a dent in it, I get a bunch of WL offers. I really should put my account on hold but I can't seem to bring myself to do it yet.  I'll have to soon because of the move.  I'd like to do more BOB transactions but I have such a pitiful shelf right now. But it always seems I have a never ending supply of WL books to read.  Lately I've been reading books for Swaps.  I'll need to stop those soon too.  But I've been very good about not buying books lately.  Just taking WL offers and that's all.  But I have a coupon for Half-price books that starts tomorrow.  I'm going off the island to do some shopping. So I'm sure I'll break down and buy some books there.

It's an illness all right, but beats the flu for sure!

I'm guilty too! I have about 50+ books underneath my bed in rubbermaid storage totes and i am still picking more up at UBS, Goodwill and i even bought a brand new copy of " Nineteen Minutes" by Jodi Picoult on a shopping trip the other day,  i have no idea when i am going to have time to read it. I have a list of books i am wanting to check out at the library also.

I've hit that dreaded overbalance point where my TBR pile outnumbers the books on my PBS shelf.  In fact, I think I hit it sometime back.  That was always my little red flag for when I was ordering or buying too many books.  I was looking at specials the other night and it hit me - wth am I looking at more books for?  I have enough to keep me busy for months.:P

My hubby is catching on.  He says hey you sent out 5 but received 15.  He suspects I'm buying credits, which I've denied.  Keeps threatening to throw my stacks of books in the trash.  I told him, not if you value your life!

The underbed in rubbermaid containers is an idea I'll have to try.  Out of sight, out of mind (for him at least) (hopefully)!

Wow, you girls make me look like a novice!!!!   My tbr is no where near as high.

I have all of my books in 3 rubbermaids in my closet.  That's why I don't worry when people question whether or not I have cats or dogs or water damage.  Mine are in perfect condition.   Plus, hub has no clue.  He doesn't even know what PBS is, either.   The less he knows, the better ;)

I'd chop my hubby's hands off and serve them to him for dinner if he so much as touched one of my books without my permission.  I'm actually quite militant about it..:P  He has more man stuff than anyone else I know though.  Tools and tools to fix tools...  And I went through this spell last fall, where we got a leak in the garage roof, and I had ten tons of his man stuff in rubbermaid totes (because I got fed up with the clutter & went out & bought them) stacked in my living room until we could get it fixed.  I stub my toes daily on his big, clunky man shoes - and I HATE stubbing my toes.  He has these monstrous Harley Davidson boots (he owns a Harley) he leaves lying around all the time, and they are murder on the toes.  I call them his Herman Munster boots..:P

He's Bigfoot...  I mean the actual Bigfoot.  I caught him on a camping trip in the High Sierras.  His little devil's spawn have big fat feet too.  And they all like expensive shoes.  They're regular fashionistas when it comes to shoes.  I don't even have as many shoes as they do.

Himm, he kind of reminds me of a book I read where the heroine was trapped in a mountain cabin with a mountain man...........where did you say you found him again?  ;)

hmm you should write your story; might make a good novel.  I like that mountain cabin idea.   He must not have put up a big fight when you "caught" him LOL :-P

LOL, too funny about finding your man and his big boots. I have a hubby like that too. I'm lucky though as he is really supportive of my book habit and never says anything about all the packages. He built me a reading balconey so I don't keep him up at nights with my booklight and I'm getting a library area in the main part of the house. Yup, I caught a good one although mine came from the gym and not some romantic mountain cabin. I like your story better. :)

Back to the addiction thing. I have the same addiction with the books. I just can't seem to stop buying them although I do read several a week so it does help. My tbr pile is in the 600's somewhere and I'm not proud of it but I could have worse addictions. :)

Yeah, good thing AJ has a sense of humor. He has nicknamed me "Too Full Collette" because I always have too many of whatever.  The cupboards are too full, too many books, too many shoes, too many movies or cd's, too many purses, etc. You get the picture.  I'm always a good example of how not to be it seems. lol
