I've accepted a request to mail a WL book.  After looking at the requestor's wish list I see I have 2 additional WL books I could mail to this member.  I know there's a way (or there used to be) to add books to a request but I can't seem to remember how to do this!  I'd like to be able to offer this member 2 more books from her WL and save on postage at the same time.  Any help would be appreciated!

Tanya - you can send her a PM to let her know you have these books.  I wouldn't just add them  because it's possible she doesn't have the credits to accept the books, doesn't want them anymore and just forgot to take them off her WL, and probably more reasons.

What I'd do is send her a PM letting her know you have these books and  I'm presuming that you haven't posted them.  Give her a time frame (say 2 days, or a day before you're going to mail the other book) -  "You ordered a WLed book from me, Book A.  I have Book X and Book Z  also on your WL.  If you'd like me to include them along with Book A, please let me know and I'll post them directly to your WL.  If I don't hear from you by MM/DD, then I'll presume you're not interested and will send Book A out to you on MM/DD.  Thanks"

Good Luck.  Pat

Tanya,

Go to that member's wish list, and find the book(s) in question.  On the right-hand side of the screen (next to the book) you will see a button with Post This Book in blue letters.  Click on it, then click on Post The Above Book.  You will be posting the book directly to that member's wish list.

Good luck!

Can't you just PM the member and let her know you have 2 more books and ask her if she would like you to post them to her?

I do that all the time.  I don't like to add book automatically, because the other member might be short on credits and would rather wait, but it never hurts to ask.

Especially if you haven't printed out the shipping label yet, there shouldn't be a problem.  And recently, I had someone add books to an order after I printed the label with DC.  When I reprinted the label, I wasn't charged for the transaction the second time.  Now, it might be different story if you printed postage on the first label.

Anyway, that's how I handle adding more books to an accepted request.

I agree with Pat and Ann Marie.  My answer only covered the technical aspects of your question.

Ditto on the suggestion that you check with the requester first.  I tried this a few times without doing so, and a large number were declined...which sends the book to FIFO, which is a bummer if you are looking for multiples to save postage.

As Whitney commented, you can post the books to the other member from her wishlist.  Do not print the label yet, that can be overcome but it does complicate things. And do be careful that you post the book directly from the members wishlist.  If you go to their wishlist, click on the book itself, then post the book...it will be posted FIFO instead.

If the requestor is like me she would have checked your list anyway to see if there were any more books she was interested in.  I always do that to help out the other person.

I don't think that would work in this situation, since it sounds like they are WL books and the requesting member would have no way of knowing the sending member had other books that they wanted.

If you do end up adding the books, make sure you choose the same "mail-by" date so it will group them all together.  Sometimes if you don't have the same "mail-by" date, it views them as separate shipments.

Thank you everyone!  The suggestion to send the requestor a PM is a good one - I'll do that and if she wants the books I'll post them directly to her.  If not then tI'll post them into the FIFO system.

Yes, as these are WL books I haven't posted them into the system yet so there is no way for the requestor to know I have them.
