I hope someone can help me. I am trying to add all my books to the site to keep a running count of all the titles I have in my personal stock. But when I add them, they seem to be disappearing. Im not posting them for public, I thought there were going to the TBR list, but some are not showing up. Is there a way I can get them all to show up on my bookshelf to have a quick glance of what i have and what i still need?

update: i am finding that I need to add each book individually to the TBR shelf, I was using the post several at a time option. but oh man, i have hundreds to add and thats gonna take a really long time. I hope someone can help me figure out how to add a bunch at a time and be able to figure out where they are being housed at.

I would guess it's a glitch as they've been working on the site for a while now.  I've noticed other weird glitches that make no sense.

I know of no way to add a bunch to your TBR or your BIR listing.  I've had to list mine one at a time.

The  way I do it  (although slow) is to go to the SEARCH box at the top right of your MY ACCOUNT page.  Type in the ISBN of your book, which will bring up the page on the book.  The last listing in the column which starts ORDER THIS BOOK is MORE OPTIONS, click on that and then click TO BE READ PILE.  This will add this book to your TBR listing.

If someone knows a faster way I'd love to know it also.  Good luck.  Pat

Are you sure you aren't accidentaly posting them to your bookshelf and now they are being requested?

One quicker way to add titles is to use a barcode scanner.  I've not used one with PBS, but other members have -- you might search the discussion forums if you are interested in that.

Can this be done with the export and import tools?  Under Member tools?

If you "Post" a book, it goes to your bookshelf and people can order it.

If you want to add a bunch of ISBNs to your TBR, you need another webpage with the list of ISBNs. Then you can use the PBS List Importer bookmark. This is javascript that will add any ISBNs on that page to a temporary list and then you pick a permanent list at the bottom of the page. The options are: bookshelf, reminder, wishlist, TBR and BIR. Don't try it with hundreds of ISBNs or it will crash. I think I did like 50 at a time when I was adding to my Reminder list.

It doesn't have to be a public webpage, so you could try it with a google document or even an email. I used blog posts for mine and then deleted them when I was done.
