Where do I go from here?
I struggled with myself, low self esteem and more.
I grappled with the work, new concepts and ideas.
As I crawled up over what I believed to be the top, I found others standing around me waiting.
"......and the winner is.........."
I wait the breath knocked from my lungs, the edge of my seat, craning, stretching, waiting to hear.
The announcer gives the call to another. One victorious, the rest of us heads hanging, slide on our bottoms down the chute, the ladder growing smaller and smaller behind us.
The shouts of,"Hang in there" "Your turn will come" "You can do it" as we slide down, down the chute.
We all needed the position for whatever our reason, but I take it to heart.
So much riding on it, so many hopes, so many dreams.
Do I have enough in me to try the climb again? Do I rest up, get a meal, hit the showers, suit up and try again?
I lick my wounds and have my cry, my stiff drink, my punch the pillow, kick the chair.
It's out of me, I fall into bed a limp noodle and sleep like the dead.
Morning, I rise, shower, coffee, hugs and kisses, out the door I go.
I drive in admiring God's peace and grace and sip my coffee.
I arrive and straighten my shirt, check my slacks for lint.
Coffee in hand I walk to the door and wonder if my new boss will like me.

Wow! It's like I'm living it, although everything isn't completely clear! It's like I'm that person! Excellent job!
