Really gives a history of the old west before the cow. Gives an almost firsthand description of the Trapper Life. Bonneville was unable to put the book together so sold all his material to Wash. Irving to write up. It was a best seller. A little stillted on the reading but then it was written almost 200 years ago and they wrote that way.
